I was looking for a moderately priced LARGE USB Drive to transfer TV Shows from the PS3 to free up harddrive space on it. This device worked fine. It’s not superfast, but is stable. No corrupt files.

The unit is reasonably priced but that is about it.

I do not like the cap (prefer all-in-one design) and the unit has a very slow data transfer rate.

I bought a 32BG Lexar (separately reviewed) from Amazon for about the same price that is smaller, faster and all-in-one.

This thumb drive is limited in a number of ways. First, the USB plug-in area has a very wide base just distal to the USB adapter portion of the product. This creates a problem when using the thumb drive and a laptop (such as a MacBook Pro) with any other USB peripheral. Essentially, it takes up two spots because of the width. Second, the drive is partitioned. In actuality, I think it is two separate flash drives stored inside the device because there is no way to format and merge the separate 32 GB portions of the drive. Finally, the biggest problem is the slow data transfer rates. It makes transferring large files very painful. It’s not necessary to purchase a really high end drive to get decent data transfer rates. I’ve used the Kingston Data Traveler, the SanDisk Cruiser, and the Corsair Flash Voyager with much better results. In summary, I would consider purchasing multiple 16 or 32 GB drives from the aforementioned companies over this drive with its many limitations.
