ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 8.5- by 7.5-Foot 4 Person Dome Tent Review

I purchased this tent as a Christmas gift, and is one of these acquisitions, where, as they have been constantly surprised by new great things about them.

So far I've only had the opportunity to use once, in winter, is not really designed, but the tent held up great and was very practical and easy to use, though not very hot.

I am a pretty big guy, and this is the first tent that I had a lot of space to relax in, and yetSpace for all my camping gear. The vestibules are great, but there is no way to cover the plastic window. Then I'll rig up somehting changed and so the cover, but otherwise are very practical.

This is a big tent, and not just a fight "tent mountainering.

It is worth it.

ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 8.5- by 7.5-Foot 4 Person Dome Tent Overview

The Taurus 4 is a 2-pole freestanding dome tent that is enhanced with 2 doors and 2 vestibules, which is probably why it’s been our best selling tent model for the last several years. We use aircraft alloy aluminum poles that are strong and lightweight. Assembly is really easy with the tent clips that just snap in place over the poles. The polyester fly and nylon floor are urethane coated, with factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness. The 2 doors make getting in and out of the tent much easier, especially in the middle of the night when you need to take a quick “break”. You also get 2 vestibules (one over each door) that you can use for extra gear storage. The vestibules also serve as automatic guy-out points when the weather gets a little nasty. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. We have added vents to the fly on our 2006 models so you get even better ventilation. Mesh roof vents increase ventilation and improve star gazing. Mesh storage pockets and a gear loft are included for organizing your stuff. Stakes and guy ropes are included.

Great Tent for the Price! – H. Howard –
My friend and I went camping in a very rainy weekend and stayed nice and dry. perfect size for two people and their luggage. The only reason they did not give 5 stars is because you can not cover the windows fly. It can not be all that is good but not a big problem. I thought it was a strange design choice.

I'm well into my second season with this tent, and it's great! And 'packs small and easy to remove. I bought these for use on bike camping trips and all that I expected more and were!
A few weeks ago I installed one of my favorite campsites. The forecast was for thunderstorms and it was right. We had wind and rain came, as I have not seen for years. I bet on and tied the tent, and lifted him beyond belief. We have 5 inches of rain the night and thehumidity in the tent had only come to me

This is a big tent. My wife and my daughter and I in tune with a ton of space to spare, was packed to the point and create super easy. When I started watching in a tent, I had two important criteria: 1) that there is a dome style, 2) that there are only two poles, preferably aluminum. This tent meets my needs and is a joy to setup and use. Just last night my wife has put itself in less than 5 minutes.

I bought about 6 million of polyethylene as a footprint in the context of useTent. Mountaineering recommended buy, but I found the stuff cheaper in a hardware store. With a floor space will definitely extend the life of the floor of the tent.

I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for an affordable man tent 3 or 4.

I bought this tent a few days ago and received yesterday. I mentioned in my yard, check out everything and eventually to sleep in it. It 'large enough for a double airmattress if you are camping car. I was amazed at how easy it is surprised and the amount of ventilation. I like the fact that the doors have windows, so your privacy more and more control over ventilation makes a 3.5 season tent zipped closed. They need to take some walking to see how it worksOut-Nice thing is the ease of configuration with two pins (and it is really easy).
