PalmOne III Handheld Review

I just ordered a Palm III online a few weeks ago, and so far I like it. It’s easy to use, I entered information in the address and date book field immediately and have been expanding to the memo pad and to do list. A few things I don’t like, the alarm isn’t much of an alarm. It makes a very faint noise once at the time you set it for and if you don’t hear it then you’re just kinda out of luck, but as soon as you turn your palm on again, that note shows up with the alarm time and date and description. Also, I got a cord with mine, not a cradle, and it won’t connect to my computer (I guess the connecting cable is too old for my 2004 laptop?) and I can’t find an adapter, so I …

PalmOne Tungsten T5 Handheld Review

At first it was difficult to figure how to put data on the Palm Pilot (maybe because of Vista operating system). Once figured it is worth it. There are some good tips on the internet (Google “PAF for Palm OS”, and look at the Adobe info). When exporting data you will have to make several data bases if you have upwards of 10’s of thousands of names. Also you will have to save your PAF each time you export in a different name so that you can have different data bases (so that one won’t replace the other) on your pilot. Also you may have to hunt for the export. It won’t always automatically appear in the (mine never did) install tool box on your laptop or desktop. Happy history and genealogy searching!
