NETGEAR WG102 ProSafe 802.11g Wireless Access Point Review

I decided to try this model because I was disgusted with other brands of access points, mostly because they either seemed to have trouble supporting simultaneous multiple wireless connections, or would stop assigning new IP addresses (via DHCP) to wireless units requesting access until I reset or restarted the access point. At last, this Netgear WG102 WAP works well and never fails to connect any Wi-Fi unit requesting access. Furthermore, I never realized that any WAP could support multiple SSID’s with different encryption modes all at once. But this one does! So, for the first time, I have no complaints about a wireless access point! This one doesn’t screw up, & it has more features than I ever thought could be packed into one unit for a decent price (I had ordered it using wishful “blind-faith” not realizing all its …

D-Link DWL-G710 Wireless Range Extender, 802.11g, 54Mbps Review

The repeater/range extender works perfectly once set up. However, the instructions will never tell you how to set it up. You need to do an online web search for the product and how to install it in order to have any chance. You must assign a constant ip address to your computer before you start or else nothing will ever happen.
The only other problem I had is not the extender’s fault. We have a portable telephone system which blocks almost everything that runs on 2400. So I have an X10 switch on the phones so that when I want to use the extender, or my wireless video cameras, or whatever 2400 – I just turn off the telephone with the X10 switch. I have a 1:15 pm and a 10:15 pm automatic “on” programed into the X10 …

ZyXEL PLA-450 200 Mbps Powerline HomePlug AV 802.11g Wireless Access Point Review
We recently built out our basement and before I spent the time and money to cat5 my whole house or possibly add a second cable modem, I decided to give the PLA-450 + 1 PLA-401 a try. To my amazement, I saw no degradation of speed when connected to the PLA-450 wirelessly at a reasonable range than I did when connected directly to my cable modem. This powerline duo smokes. My cable modem is on the second floor and my primary DLink wireless router is connected to it. Needless to say, getting great coverage from the second floor to my basement was not possible on the DLink. So the PLA-450 acts as my second wireless router (called an access point) allowing me to plug it into any wall outlet in the house. You …
