Lenovo IdeaPad S10 10.2-Inch Red Netbook – 3 Cell Battery Review

I bought this mainly for my daughter for 10 years, and for my occasional use. I wanted something small and relatively inexpensive (compared to a normal laptop). We had about two weeks and was very pleased.
Pro
* The keyboard is smaller than a full size laptop, but still usable, great for my hands. (Extra large gloves are close to me). I will not write a book with him, but for a short period of typing, such as blogs orE-maiing works well.
* The response is good. Do not expect fast as a high-performance desktop or laptop, but the speed is certainly acceptable. (And I'm the impatient type).
* Although the Lenovo site says that facial recognition software is not available on this model, if we had included. It works very well when the light is pretty good. You have no log-in to sit with the keyboard in front of the screen for several seconds whilerecognize the face. We also need a picture of someone attempting to access the laptop. If someone tries to use them without your consent, you will be able to see who he was.
* Comes with a front-Lenovo that sits on Windows. It provides you with icons for Internet, online games, etc. You can stop, go to the normal Windows desktop.
* It looks very sharp and well designed. We are a deep red outside and white inside.
* Battery life wasvery good. I do not have exact numbers, but you should be able to get a couple of hours on the Internet, use a fee.
* It 'very light and portable, yet seems robust.
Cons
* These are small laptops called netbooks for a reason. If you decide to do .. to surf the Internet, email, etc. Use it feels good. This is not the computer that you want when you want to run the required software, computing power and memory. Needless to say … This is probably what you wantPhotoshop.
* There is no built-in CD or DVD.
You can view a description of the Amazons, all data and functions, but works well enough equipped for the price. Over the past 15 years, spent all of my Dell computer, and I still like Dell. But this Lenovo model seemed to offer more for the money.

Good unit but needs 6 cell battery – Pete – Denver, CO
the use of this device is for my wife to access email and the Internet. The desktop PC at home frustrated their use, because it will take about 10 minutes to boot. (Needs —- updated soon after the release of Windows7 MS)
I bought the Lenovo because the style, technical data and software installed.
The device has the ability to use facial recognition to the wife loves the characters function. The unit works great. We like the fact that the web camera, speakers and microphone built into Emakes it very easy for my wife to talk to me via Skype when I travel abroad.
We must keep our Alaska cruise / backup all the pictures we have. He worked hard and it was nice to be able to write images on a screen bigger than 2.5 ". The small size and light weight were exactly what we were looking for.
I would recommend, would be higher come with 6 cell battery. The 3 cell battery is good it came with about 1-1.5 hours.
good unit – Leif Wanager – Tacoma
I like it. I bought it for our underlying unity. Engages in Wi-Fi hotspots, and is robust enough for its small size. This is a good value. I do not mind the small battery, I usually take anyway. Good stuff free download Kim Komando-site. Plenty of room on board.
Two small complaints … can not be a big problem for you:
Gripe # 1 * * = right shift key is difficult for a typist, like me, find … The designers had to make a choice of layoutsand I'm still adjusting to it.
Gripe # 2 = VeriFace: This technology would be great if I were a spy, but I'm just me and I do not need all that security. Some people may like it. It was not difficult to remove, and then I was more trouble. (It would complain a lot, it is difficult to remove, but it is not.)
I like the Lenovo S10. Some features of Windows XP drive me nuts float (like the magic of auto-click – click, like it or not), butis not this netbook is to blame!
It loses a star only because the right shift key * * size – of course, if they have a * right shift key large and small arrow keys, you probably would complain! If you "hunt-n-Peck," does not interfere at all.
Good Netbook – Rebecca A. Baillie – Woodland, CA USA
I had this netbook for four months. I bought specially for business trips, when I presented slides or documents, and I had to bring my laptop larger. It 'very good for traveling and when I was used to the keyboard to type and use the smallest reasonable. I recommend a mouse with the keyboard of the laptop used by smaller size.
-I would also recommend upgrading RAM if you plan to use the netbook are for work other than just e-mail and the Internet. INotice of a slower speed when using multiple programs.
-I had a / separate DVD CD-Rom so I could add programs without having to download all. I found this very useful.
-The power consumption on this computer will run a program from Lenovo, instead of standard Windows-Power System. I noticed that it does a good job of conservation of power and a decent battery life when using the default settings.
The netbook has created a lot of heat and the ground is hot. Inot recommend it to work directly on your lap. I have a padded cover, but I notice more heat.
-The wireless card in this netbook is not as good as in my laptop or a notebook that I had. Has fewer choices and often have to again. I noticed this with my home LAN. During my laptop very capable of maintaining a stable Wi-Fi for hours, this netbook combines every 15-30 minutes, sometimes more often.
-This is a goodSolution for presentations, e-mails and other jobs where you do not have detailed work. And the Word documents and general office programs run well. It is used for Internet decent when you get used to the small screen. There is no problem with speed, just look smaller and flow of a normal laptop.
Overall, this netbook was a good choice. Does exactly what I wanted and at a minimum weight. I only wish that the WiFi card was a bit 'more stable.
Awesome netbook! – Jennifer Davanh – Chicago, IL
I had this netbook more than a month and I like it! The screen size is perfect and with only 1 GB of RAM is really not that bad (although I am planning to upgrade to 2 GB). The only problem I had with the netbook is that it has claimed to have hard drives of 160 GB, but I am seeing only about 130 (unless there are 30 more hidden somewhere), or maybe it's just my Netbook. So I gave it only four stars. Overall, this is my number one baby. I have so many compliments from me, but IFamily. The webcam is a nice touch was the quality much better than I expected. Although it is designed primarily for Internet, e-mail and the use of music, I actually play my Sims 2 on this thing, and it works very well. I recommend this netbook, if someone is thinking.
