I have had this mouse for about 2 years. When I read reviews there are very few that have long term experience with a product, so I had to comment on this one since I’ve had it for years. Having someone tell you a product is great when they’ve only had it for 2 weeks is not extremely helpful or comforting. I really want to know if what I’m about to buy will die in a few months or go the distance.
I’m not sure the one I own is the exact same model but it looks identical and has the same features as what’s described. I bought this Logitech MX-518 to replace my aging Logitech MX-510. Amazing improvement! Very accurate, fast response, good grip, excellent glide, nice and elegant construction.
Mouse feet are now two big segments (front and back) and a side support (instead of 5 small feet on MX-510). This configuration delivers improved gliding. Also, side BACK button response time has been enhanced compared to MX-510 (another BIG improvement for knifing on FPS games) and DPI is far much better (than MX-510).
On top of all that, this is the cheapest high quality gaming mouse you can find. Superior value delivered on this product. Kudos to Logitech! (And thanks Amazon for such a great service!)
After trying several mouse pads I personally recommend pairing this mouse with SteelSeries mouse pad. I picked SteelSeries QcK Mini (250mm x 210mm / 9.8in x 8.2in) and results were amazing!

I bought my first mx518 years ago and I have bought 2 more, not because my first one malfunctioned in any way, but because I wanted one for each computer. I’ve tried many different mice; I always come back to the mx518.
I was just reading the 1 and 2 star reviews of this product and was moved to write this review.
1) I see complaints of it being too big or too small. Obviously, hands come in different sizes and shapes. Mice are normally packaged and not on display for testing in stores; it is difficult to judge how they will feel.
