I remember receiving my first Casio watch as a birthday present years ago and although the band on it eventually broke, it survived the toughest of abuse. My first Casio wasn’t even a G Shock.
I got this G-Shock Rescue Red watch for Christmas this year and I love the way the red looks. It’s eye catching and simply looks tough. It comes with a low-temp LCD in case you wander into much colder environments, electroluminescent display (with auto on feature when tilted), stop watch, countdown timer, tidal, lunar and date tracking. I don’t have much use for the tidal/lunar functions, but it’s nice to have them. This watch, like my first Casio, has a mute feature that lets you turn off the beeping when going from menu to menu. this watch is great, very durable in all aspects, looks great, the color is VERY DIFFERENT than the amazon pic, the actual watch color is WAY more of a dark camo green, almost grey color which i was both surprised and happy about. i don’t find the negative display too hard to read, you get used to it quickly and i do not hit the illumination button very often at all (unless i’m in total darkness) if i had one complaint about the watch, it’s that the illumination button only works for the screen you are currently on, so if you hit the light, then try to move to a stopwatch, the light automatically goes out and you have to hit it again. in my opinion it should stay on while you press the buttons. i use this watch as my …
