Cuisinart CBT-500 SmartPower 600-Watt Premier Power Blender, Brushed Stainless Review

Cuisinart CBT-500 SmartPower 600-Watt Premier Power Blender, Brushed Stainless
I’ve had an identical one of these for over five years and have loved it. I bought it to make protein shakes but it’s occasionally called upon to render that frozen concoction that helps me hang on, which has become quite renowned and some of our friends say they’ve tried to duplicate my “Stevarita” recipe but to no avail. They believe the blender is my secret weapon so I bought this one as a lake house-warming gift for them so we can enjoy agave-based libations on the dock this summer. I looked at several other vendors but Amazon had the best price (and then free shipping) and I’ve had a wonderful experience with everything I’ve ever bought on the site, so it was a no-brainer. Added bonus, it arrived in two days.

Customer Reviews

it’s great – Juniper Sarah – San Francisco
I’m really surprised by some of the bad reviews. I’ve had this blender for several months and have used it every day with no problems. It’s true the pouring lip is on the flat side of the square jar, but I just pour it out from one of the corner edges and it’s fine. Never made a mess. I love the thing.

Two speeds: Fast and Faster – Drew –
We’ve owned and sporadically used this blender for just over three years. Usage was limited to 3-4 times a month during the summer months.

This thing has two speeds: fast and really fast – both of which are entirely too much to get a smoothie started. All it will do is create an air bubble at the bottom and hold it there. After three years of “I *hate* this blender!”, the glass carafe cracked all the way up the side while we were making a smoothie. This thing’s going into the trash and we’re getting a Breville.

Junk – Mt Gallego – San Diego CA
I have owned this for a year or so. I’ve used it all of 3 times… always trying it again after I forgot why I didn’t want to use it. I could take the noise, what I cannot take is the rubber seal slipping off as its spinning (if you can get the buttons unstuck from the pushed in position and actually get it to spin) and the contents seeping out through the bottom and all over the base and your countertops. I cleaned it last night and decided to never allow it to darken my kitchen again. I have extra kitchen space now! Dare I put it out front or give it to a neighbor? Would I want to visit this misery upon their lives? No. I threw it in the bin…. next time maybe I’ll buy a Kitchen Aid.
